Hucking Around in Fernie – Revision Skis

Three days before our catskiing trip with Fernie Wilderness Adventures (FWA) catskiing, we received the dreaded news that weather conditions were bad. The powder skiing trip we had been anticipating for months was looking like it would be washed out by the warm weather. Rain at the top of the mountain created a rain crust …

Montauk T&T – Le Mouching

MONTAUK & T&T Tom Dorsey speaks about Thomas & Thomas rods, one of the best advertisement film ever made. Who wouldn’t want to go fishing in Montauk now? I do!

The Shadow Campaign // Whitewash on Vimeo

Midway through a dry season, with scraggly trees, icy slopes, and hardly any base, Mount Baker suddenly finds itself consumed by the chaos of the year’ biggest storm– unleashing several feet of snow every night for ten straight days. Plows work around the clock to keep order, but still the ditches fill with battered cars fallen victim to the heavy drifts. As the snow tirelessly buries the mountain, and the warmth and color of the sun become distant memories, the DPS crew reaches the top to find themselves cradled in a monochromatic powder paradise, everything washed away in a rapture of white.

ARCTIC SILVER – Le Mouching

As if everything we’d do by the river was slow motion, as if all that we feel was bigger than it is, as if the pleasure we have was endless, as if the days were longer, as if we would get much more from fly fishing, that’s what this film makes me feel. Fishing always … Lire la suite

The Road From Karakol

The Road From Karakol

In summer 2011, Outdoor Research athlete Kyle Dempster took off on his bike across Kyrgyzstan with a couple mostly-accurate maps, a trailer full of climbing gear, and a vocabulary of 10 Kyrgyz words. He spent two months pedaling and pushing the bike more than 1200 km on roads of variable states of neglect, wading through wild rivers, dealing with corrupt military checkpoint staff, and soloing a handful of unclimbed alpine rock and mixed routes. He recorded the journey, his camera his only partner, friend, and sometimes the only receiving end of his conversations for days at a time.

In 2013, Kyle’s self-shot footage of his journey in Kyrgyzstan made it to the desk of filmmakers Fitz Cahall and Austin Siadak, who were asked to look at the footage and see if there might be enough to chop together a 4-minute climbing film. They saw a lot more potential in it, and turned it into the 25-minute “The Road From Karakol,” which debuted at the 5Point Film Festival and took home the Best In Fest award.
